Welcome Birmingham Area Homeschoolers!

Special-Abled
Children
Support Group My name is Kim LoveJoy, and I
have 3 special-abled children that I have been homeschooling and am
interested in connecting with all other families that are teaching
their unique children at
home.
I would like to get some fun activities and fellowship activities
going for our exceptional children, but I need to know how many
children/families are interested, things they might be interested
in doing, and ages involved before planning anything. Some of
the things that I am currently thinking of include an exceptional
prom, formal dinner, social group, and support
group.
This group will be located in the Bham area and is open to all homeschoolers regardless of church school. If interested, please contact Kim at 6lovejoyblessings@gmail.com. |
There are children with bright, intelligent minds who are
failing because they have dyslexia. Casts and crutches are not in
evidence, but the learning difference effects can be every bit as
devastating as those of a physical challenge. An estimated 10
percent of the population has difficulty with symbols of written
language, including reading, reading comprehension, writing and
spelling. Without help to overcome this difference, these children
will lose their self-esteem and ultimately fail to realize their
full potential. The
Scottish Rite Foundation of Alabama Learning Centers offer a
number of free services to children, families, teachers, schools,
and Scottish Rite members.
